Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the city endured heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks follow nights of air raids in the region, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to identify.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
