Nearly twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland woke up without power on the start of the week after powerful weather events swept through the region, bringing powerful gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Destruction

At the same time, around 1,000 residents in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations handled 598 requests for assistance across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
